Justin Cahill Special Needs Prom

 My name is Victoria Cahill and I am the founder of the Justin Cahill Special Needs Prom. It started as my senior project at Windsor High School in 2014 but has continued on to be an annual event.

 

The prom is titled "The Justin Cahill Special Needs Prom" because my brother, Justin is profoundly affected by autism and served as my inspiration for the prom. I wanted to combine my love for those with special needs and my love for prom together to create a fun event. I know that not all of our special students are able to attend their school dance, and I wanted to give them another opportunity to in a more comfortable environment for them. The prom has no flashing lights, lower volume on music, a quiet room, and the option of bringing a parent/caretaker. Not only this, but it is a night that is all about them!
